Social Impact Investing or SII for short is a wholistic, outcomes-based approach to investments that seeks to accomplish more than just profits and/or capital growth. SII commonly has environmental and/or social and community development as its driving force. Thus SII projects usually involve partnerships between governments, not-for-profits and the private sector.

SII has been named a high priority by the Commonwealth Government, and a number of state governments have followed suit.
